Note: This message is not meant to body shame or create issues for any individual. It is a wakeup call for us to make the best decisions for better health which includes improved habits. I am reflecting on my personal slip and slide prior to sliding further. As I write this, I am on vacation and enjoying the meals our host has created. I suspect I will slide a bit further as all the meals are delicious and a cinnamon roll (you just can't eat one) and other delicious and eye appealing foods deserve an extra helping. Fortunately, these folks are health conscious and healthy options are available, but my self-control and discipline did not stop me from piling it on my plate. But, with a stronger will power and appreciation of the long term effects of healthy decisions, I and we can do better and hopefully will throughout this holiday season. We are all built differently and whether a plus or minus size, eating healthy, exercising, reducing emotional baggage and being appreciative towards ourselves and others keeps us healthy and well. This is the purpose of my message so thanks for reading it and please share it with others.
Did You Slip and Slide During The Holiday
Driving to Florida for Thanksgiving with family, I felt a bit bloated creating psychological havoc as I recently lost a few pounds being steadfast going to the gym, swimming and walking a few miles five days a week. I did slim down a bit, felt physically stronger and emotionally I was content that self control stood the test of time and the attraction to sweets and overeating ... see the links below this message for advice on how to be in control when you are losing it
So easy to lose control savoring that doughnut, chocolate bar, fried foods all while gorging on ice cream, cake and too much food overall especially if you are a sugar addict. I confess, I am still recovering from a recent seven day cruise where it is almost impossible to bypass the food court with delights from one food station to another.  As much as I knew better, I still let my eyes do the deciding rather than my brain. So, I gained a few pounds that could have been prevented with some self control. Click here if you will be going on a cruise and how to avoid overeating.
Although this can easily develop into a food quilt and pity message, the truth is there is more involved. Self esteem is dependent on how well you manage the day and how strong your beliefs are holding fast with some self discipline and self control. Slipping and sliding is the end result if you are not vigilant.
So easy to slip and slide when your eyes are weaker than your brain, when you know better but do not heed that wee voice within telling you to stop and when you feel you are rewarding yourself when emotionally you are weak to say no. The cupcake or the apple? What do you think?
I want my message today to affirm what we both know. The pretzels, chips, candies and nachos above sure look good and with moderation is a treat but treating yourself to a few bags and feeling lousy afterwards is not the answer and when it becomes a habit self indulgence is thrown out the door. That wee voice within is now a roar to stop. Check below this message for advice videos
Friends, we cannot control many things but overeating, losing self control and discipline may be difficult but with some tweaking or insightful awareness and small baby steps things can slowly and dramatically turn around. As mentioned earlier, slipping and sliding is more than an eating issue but really a self esteem issue and when not confronted can be a life long burden. Check below this message for advice videos
You may ask why I wrote this and the answer is simple, you are listening to my wee inner voice saying I know better and can do better as the older I get the more I need to heed my inner voice, listen to my own messages and implement what I and we both know: Eat, Think, Implement as if your life depended on it and it does.
Below are a number of links concerning being in control as well as best eating habits. The road of choices is difficult to maneuver even with your best internal GPS but they must be made.

Writing about holiday vacations, when was the last time you took one other than for a quick holiday weekend. If money is tight, a few minutes a day to chill is in order but if you have saved for a rainy day it may be time to use it. If you have problems determining where and when to travel, costs and benefits as well as a mode such as a cruise, bus tours, resorts, special venues, and excursions then ask around or use my travel advisor, who has traveled the world at high end venues, discovering delicious meals and sites, knows his way around deals and plans with you a restful, eventful, exciting and/or adventurous journey. He has my highest endorsement.

Life College of Chiropractic Lights Begins Thanksgiving

LIFE University introduced the Lights of LIFE in 1989 as a gift to the local community and it has now grown to be one of the most popular light shows in the Southeast attracting nearly half a million spectators from the surrounding region. Cars, vans and buses cruise through the spectacularly illuminated campus each year, often stopping along the 1.5-mile drive to enjoy an array of seasonal entertainments.  For more information visit1269 Barclay Circle Marietta, GA 30060
